Kangaroo care or skin to skin is supposed to be very comforting for the baby. I know it was comforting to me to hold my baby so close. They give you a button down shirt and you hold your baby inside the shirt. Since I got to hold Gabriel first Daddy did skin to skin first. He was tolerating movement better so Tony did it in the morning and I did it that night. Unfortunately my time didnt last long. Gabriel thought it would be funny to rest his arm on the breathing tube and yank down. so the tube came out and the doctors had to get it back in so that his airway was protected. But we tried agin the next day and i was able to hold him for a over an hour.
